Endlich - 18 Monate nach dem letzten AGM und 8 Monate nach dem erlebnisreichen Pattaya-Weekend trifft der Paparazzo wieder einmal die Members.
Offiziell ab 18.00 Uhr, aber echt schweizerisch schon viel früher, fand man sich zur Registrierung und vor allem zum Apéro ein. Nebst Softdrinks, Nüssli und Chips wurde (in der jugendlichen Szene spricht man von vorglühen) auch Bier und Wein offeriert.
Auch dieses Jahr konzentriert sich die Berichterstattung des Paparazzo vor allem auf den gemütlichen Teil vor und nach dem AGM.
Das wesentliche aus dem offiziellen Teil unter dem Motto „in der Kürze liegt die Würze“:
- Mit der Einladung wurden die Mitglieder mit ausführlichen Unterlagen bedient.
- Der Vorstand hat das AGM professionell vorbereitet und unser Präsident Christian Brunner führte souverän durch die einzelnen Traktanden.
- Wahlen: die Tätigkeiten von Karin Wenger Miguel Jaun und Luca Sigg wurden verdankt, der restliche Vorstand wurde in Corpore wiedergewählt.Der Präsident bedauerte, dass nebst Pierre keine Vertreter aus der französischen und italienischen Schweiz, aber vor allem keine neue Dame, für den Vorstand gefunden werden konnte.
- Absolut ungewohnt, aber sehr sinnvoll, war die COVID-gerechte Bestuhlung (siehe Fotos).
Der Präsident begrüsst die 86 (davon 73 stimmberechtigte) illustren Gäste, u.a. die Schweizer Botschafterin mit Ehemann - Frau Helene Budliger Artieda, Ehrenmitglied Isabella Meyer, Ex-Präsidenten Markus Ruprecht und Bruno Huber, Bruno Odermatt vom Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce, CEO der BAC Group Linus A.E. Knobel und Professorin Dr. phil. Pornsan Watanangura – Präsidentin der Thai Deutschen Gesellschaft. Im Weiteren war unsere Botschaft vertreten durch Consul Pierre Chabloz, SSB Vorstandsmitglied, und einer neuen Mitarbeiterin im Konsulat: Frau Simone Spring, die kürzlich von Sydney, Australien nach Bangkok gewechselt hatte. Erfreulicherweise entschloss sie sich spontan zur SSB Mitgliedschaft.
Unter der persönlichen Leitung von Sofitel’s GM Oliver Schnatz und Food and Beverage Director Thomas Kerschbaumer standen 30 Personen im Einsatz. Die Küchen-Crew liess (fast) keine kulinarischen Wünsche offen. Die 16 Vorspeisen mit 16 Leckereien an der Salatbar, gefolgt von 7 verschiedenen Hauptspeisen, wurden mit 6 Desserts zum Geniessen abgerundet.
Diese feine Verköstigung im gepflegten Umfeld unterstützte die gute Stimmung und die angeregten Unterhaltungen. Wer nicht anwesend war hat definitiv etwas verpasst.

Finally – after the last AGM 18 months ago, and after the eventful weekend in Pattaya 8 months ago, the paparazzo met the members of the SSB.
The participants arrived at 6pm (of course slightly earlier - according to Swiss manners) for the registration of the AGM and for the aperitif. We enjoyed the nuts and chips together with the offered beer and wine (these days, the youngsters call this “warm up”).
This year again, the paparazzo is concentrating in his report on the relaxing part of the evening before and after the official AGM.
The official part of the meeting can be summarized as following: ·
- The members received the invitation including a detailed documentation. ·
- The excellently prepared Board led through the meeting in a professional manner. ·
- Elections: Special thanks go to Karin Wenger, Miguel Jaun and Luca Sigg for their activities. The rest of the Board was reelected in corpore. The President regrets that besides Pierre, there is no other representative from the French or Italian part of Switzerland, and especially that no new lady could be recruited for the Board. ·
- The COVID-appropriate seating order was very unusual, but very useful (see pictures).
The President welcomed 86 guests (thereof 73 entitled to vote), especially the Swiss Ambassador with her husband – Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda, Honoray Member – Mrs. Isabella Meyer, former President – Mr. Markus Ruprecht, Mr. Bruno Huber, Mr. Bruno Odermatt from the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce, CEO of BAC Group - Mr. Linus A.E. Knobel and prof. dr. phil Pornsan Watanangura – President of the Thai German Society. The Swiss Embassy was represented by Consul Pierre Chabloz, SSB Board member, and Simone Spring, a new employee, working before at the Swiss embassy in Australia. We were very pleased that she spontaneously decided to become a member of the SSB.
Under the personal direction of Mr. Oliver Schnatz, GM Sofitel, and the lead of Mr. Thomas Kerschbauer, F&B Manager Sofitel, a crew of 30 employees took care of the guests. They did not leave any culinary wishes unfulfilled: 16 starters with 16 delicious dishes at the salad bar, followed by 7 different main courses were complemented with 6 seductive deserts.
The excellent food in a decent atmosphere supported the good mood and the lively conversations throughout the evening.
