Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and stormiest of all continents. The white desert of ice is one of the last untouched natural areas on earth. It is almost 40 times the size of Germany and the only part of the world without a population. 99 percent of Antarctica is covered with ice, in places up to almost 5’000 meters thick. Our SSB member Kurt Ulrich has traveled to this extreme continent and told us about this amazing journey through Argentina, the rough Drake passage to the shores of Antarctica.
